Our goal is to serve anyone suffering from the trauma of sexual abuse, rape, and/or domestic violence based on their needs and current situation. This includes women, children, teens and men who have experienced violence recently or in the past. We also provide support services for family and loved ones of victims of domestic and sexual violence.

SAFETY PLAN:  If you are experiencing violence or threatening behavior from a partner, spouse, ex-partner or ex-spouse, regardless of whether that person lives with you or not, there are steps you can take to plan for your safety and for the safety of your children. This is called safety planning and we can help you make one. Remember that keeping safe does not always mean leaving your home. In fact, leaving your home without planning can be a very dangerous thing to do. Here are some important things to remember when keeping safe:

• Phone HOPE Center at  800-607-2330. It is better to speak with a real person about your immediate situation rather than using e-mail. Trained advocates are available 24 hours a day to help you assess your safety, create a safety plan, decide whether you need to leave your home and obtain information about shelter and counseling services.
• Be Aware. All internet communication is traceable. Do not contact HOPE Center or anyone else about your abuse via e-mail. Use the phone instead. More information on internet safety is available at these websites: CoveringYourTracks (pdf) and NNEDV: internet-safety.
• Don't leave HOPE Center information or related materials in a place where someone might find them.

HOPE CENTER SERVICES:
The following is a list of services provided by HOPE Center. Each can be accessed 24 hours a day at 800-607-2330. If you call HOPE Center, and you have a redial feature on your phone, be sure to dial a "safe" number after you call us.

• Phone Support  For recent victims, long-term survivors and loved ones. You do not have to be in crisis to call.
• Emergency Shelter  For both women and men, with or without children, experiencing violence at home. Shelter is also available for rape survivors.
• Counseling  Individual and group counseling for women, children, teens and men.
• Hospital Support  Recent rape survivors can access a hospital advocate at any time to meet them at the emergency room, explain procedures and offer support.
• Legal Advocacy  Support during legal proceedings including courtroom, protective order process, etc., as well as assistance in getting free/sliding scale legal assistance.
